Company visit to IMEC, a world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics
Dear Alumni and Friends of Harvard,
Based in Leuven, imec is a world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics (microchip technology) and
digital technologies. Innovation that helps its partners, companies, governments or academia to have a significant impact
on the quality of life. Technologies for a better health, safer mobility, sustainable energy and much more.
Imec works on technology that is 5 to 10 years ahead of what exists today. Join us in a company visit and make a trip to
the future!
Come and admire imec’s unique infrastructure that includes a €2,5 billion 300mm semiconductor cleanroom and pilot
line in a workplace where more than 5,500 expert scientists from over 96 countries are employed. A true ecosystem of
more than 600 world-leading industry partners and a global academic network.
Besides the guided tour, you will equally become familiar with another activity of imec: supporting start-ups and
entrepreneurs. Sven De Cleyn, Managing Director of the imec.istart fund, will walk us through imec’s business
incubation programme and Laurent Vancaillie, Senior Venture Development Manager, will elaborate on imec’s spin-off
activities.
A full catering service will be provided after the visit on the premises.
The imec visit will take place on:
Monday, December 4th, 2023 at 7.30 pm
at the imec facilites in Leuven
Remisebosweg 1, 3001 Leuven
If you would like to attend this unique event, please confirm your participation before November 20th, via this link. The
maximum amount of visitors will be limited to 50 (on a first come, first served basis).
The fee for this event will be €50 for members and €65 for non-members (guests and non-member alumni), to be paid
on Eventbrite before the deadline. As always, please note that we do not reimburse in case of cancellation after the
deadline above.
We hope that you will be able to join us and look forward to seeing you on December 4th, 2023.
